Victories Highlight Fifth Day of 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics

(MENAFN) On the fifth day of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, medals were distributed in eight competitions across seven different disciplines.

Swiss skier Franjo von Allmen secured gold in the men’s super-G, marking his third Olympic title of these Games. American athlete Ryan Cochran-Siegle earned silver, while Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt took home the bronze.

In the women’s 15-kilometer individual biathlon, French competitor Julia Simon claimed the top spot, followed by her compatriot Lou Jeanmonnot with silver and Bulgaria’s Lora Hristova with bronze.

The women’s freestyle skiing moguls event saw the United States dominate, with Elizabeth Lemley capturing gold and Jaelin Kauf taking silver. France’s Perrine Laffont completed the podium with the bronze medal.

Norway’s Jens Luraas Oftebro won gold in the Nordic combined individual 10-kilometer race, finishing ahead of Austria’s Johannes Lamparter and Finland’s Eero Hirvonen.

Italy enjoyed success in luge, as Andrea Voetter and Marion Oberhofer earned gold in the women’s doubles, while Italians Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner took gold in the men’s doubles event. The silver and bronze medals in women’s doubles went to Germany and Austria, respectively, while Austria and Germany collected silver and bronze in the men’s doubles.

In speed skating, Jordan Stolz of the US set a new Olympic record to win gold in the men’s 1,000-meter event. Jenning de Boo of the Netherlands captured silver, and Zhongyan Ning of China earned bronze.
